National Safety Stand-Down Week is June 2nd – 6th. This week is dedicated to providing workers on construction sites important information about fall prevention. Falls account for the largest number of fatal construction accidents every year.
In hopes of reducing the number of serious and fatal falls on construction sites, OSHA is encouraging employers to hold a Safety Stand-Down during the week of June 2nd. Educational materials are available for free on OSHA’s website, as are certificates of completion for employers who hold a Stand-Down. These meetings take only around 5 minutes and can play a significant role in increasing workplace safety.
You Have Rights
If you have sustained an injury on the job, you are entitled to seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages. In most instances this type of compensation is available even if you played a role in your injury, but getting it can be much more difficult than you might expect.
The Chicago workers’ compensation attorneys at Walner & Associates have years of experience helping people injured on the job get the compensation they deserve. We would be happy to meet with you free of charge to help you better understand your rights and begin the process of getting fair compensation.
