Five people suffered injuries and two people died when a tree branch from a 100-year-old tree came crashing to the ground at an Illinois firework show. Just minutes after the show started, the tree on the courthouse law fell to the ground. The branch was 45-feet in length and was over eight feet around at the base.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, a 61-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and a 72-year-old man died at the hospital. A woman who was pregnant was among those injured and gave birth to a healthy baby girl at the hospital.
