What’s a Selfie Anyway?

Selfies are pictures taken of oneself and have, in recent years, become increasingly popular. With the advent of Facebook and Instagram, more and more people are taking selfies around Chicago with smartphones, and posting them instantly for friends and family to view. This act is harmless for the most part, but according to a new report, more and more people are taking selfies while driving, significantly increasing the risk of causing serious car accidents.

If you or a loved one has been injured by a distracted driver, please contact Walner Law or call (312) 313-2888 to schedule a free consultation with one of our Chicago car accident attorneys.

Dangerous Behavior

Using a cellphone to text, talk, or surf the web while driving is a leading cause of car accidents. In many instances, accidents caused by distracted drivers result in serious or even fatal injury to other motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

When you or a loved one is injured by someone who is taking a picture of themselves or otherwise endangering the lives of others while driving, you have every right to hold them accountable for all of your damages and seek compensation well beyond the offerings of insurance companies.
