Morton Grove, IL — Authorities are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Friday morning in Morton Grove, leading to major traffic closures along Dempster Street.

According to Morton Grove police, the crash occurred in the 6700 block of Dempster Street. While officials have not yet confirmed the exact time of the incident, officers were on scene through the morning hours as part of an active investigation.

SkyCam 9 footage taken around 7:50 a.m. showed police tape blocking off a parking lot and a nearby vehicle, though it remains unclear how they were connected to the crash. Dempster Street was shut down in both directions between Waukegan Road and Lehigh Avenue while investigators processed the scene.

As of now, no further details have been released regarding the condition of the pedestrian or the cause of the crash. Police have not confirmed whether any citations or arrests were made.
