Englewood, IL (October 27, 2024) – A high-speed crash in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood left one teenager dead and three others seriously injured late Sunday.
The accident occurred around 10:10 p.m. at the intersection of Ashland Avenue and 71st Street. Police reported that a white SUV failed to stop at a traffic signal and collided with a gray SUV traveling northbound through the intersection.
A 17-year-old passenger in the white SUV was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead. Another passenger from the same vehicle remains in critical condition.
The driver of the gray SUV suffered a concussion, while a passenger was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center with a hip injury. Both were listed in serious condition.
